Mick Gentleman

Member for Brindabella

Mick was born in Canberra and raised his three children in Tuggeranong, where he is the Member for Brindabella.

Mick re-entered the Legislative Assembly in 2012 having previously been the Member for Brindabella from 2004 to 2008.

Before re-entering the Legislative Assembly, Mick worked in the private sector as the executive director of the Motor Trades Association ACT and has previously held many different occupations from postie to protective service officer.

Following the introduction of new ministerial portfolios in 2014, Mick became the sixth ACT Minister.

Mick has consistently worked in the local community to bring change. He has held board positions at the Tuggeranong Arts Centre the Canberra Men’s Centre. He has also been involved in the White Ribbon Foundation for many years.

Mick is committed to Canberra, its community and its environment. His work in the Assembly includes the introduction of the Solar Feed-In-Tariff, among other achievements. He wants to see improvements in community services for Canberrans including improved traffic conditions, closer emergency and health services for the Lanyon Valley and the Tuggeranong community.
