Direct community engagement in Belconnen
The ACT Government are taking Pop-up Cabinet on the road again next week to meet with Belconnen community members.
I encourage all Belconnen residents, business owners and community representatives to register now for 15 minute ‘Speed meet the Minister’ sessions.
These meetings will take place from 2:30pm on Wednesday 2 December at the Belconnen Library and we welcome the opportunity to discuss local issues with Belconnen residents.
These speed meetings proved to be very successful in our last Pop-up Cabinet held in Woden, as we were able to speak directly with the community on a range of topics, including the importance of sustainability, health services, higher education and improvements to our public spaces.
Access Canberra staff will also be on hand at Westfield Belconnen from 9am to 3pm on Wednesday and Thursday to answer any questions you might have on ACT Government services. Visit them on the top level at the Fernwood entrance, between Witchery and Glue.
During Pop-up Cabinet we’ll also be visiting a number of Belconnen businesses and organisations, and I’m looking forward to a number of activities including taking a tour through Westfield to meet with local business owners, visiting a local primary school and a local medical centre.
Pop-up Cabinet is designed to make it as easy as possible for the community to speak with their local Ministers, so keep an eye out for us around the town centre and throughout Belconnen, and feel free to stop us for a chat.
You can register now for your Speed Meet the Minister session at www.act.gov.au.
